IV International Congress on Digital Humanities
Welcome to the 3rd International Congress on Digital Humanities
From June 5 to 8, 2023, the II International Congress on Digital Humanities will be held in a digital environment, organized by Institut Isabel de Villena of Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir (IVEMIR-UCV), attached to the Research Vice Presidency of the UCV, and Territory, History and Cultural Heritage Digital Research Group, From the Catholic University of Ávila (TEHIPACD-UCAV).
More than just a simple label, this congress will allow us to understand the scope of this concept, which directly impacts the Humanities, a discipline that has existed since the beginning of creation; it is present in all human events, disciplines, and actions, and fosters the ability to be autonomous, the critical spirit, and comprehensive education at all levels.
The first edition of this congress, in May 2022, marked an important milestone, first because it involved the collaboration of two Catholic universities, one from Valencia and the other from Ávila, in scientific dissemination; and, second, because it focused on a field of study that is constantly growing in 21st-century society: Digital Humanities.
This second congress will offer a new description of the scope of the Digital Humanities from different perspectives, such as Archives, Literature, Language and History, which explain current culture and society.
This international congress has been structured into four days, during which two invited presentations will be delivered, followed by a space dedicated to communications, selected by the scientific committee.
We invite undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, as well as the general public interested in Digital Humanities.
Lorem Ipsum It is simply the filler text in printers and text files. Lorem Ipsum has been the standard filler text in the industries since 1500, when an unknown printer (person who dedicates himself to printing) used a gallery of typefaces and mixed them in such a way that he managed to make a specimen book of text. It not only survived 500 years, but also entered as filler text in electronic documents, remaining essentially unchanged from the original. It was popularized in the 60s with the creation of the “Letraset” sheets, which contained passages of Lorem Ipsum, and more recently with self-publishing software, such as Aldus PageMaker, which includes versions of Lorem Ipsum.
It is a well-established fact that a reader will be distracted by the content of a site’s text while looking at its design. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more or less normal distribution of letters, unlike using texts like “Content here, content here”. These texts make it look like a Spanish text that can be read. Many self-publishing packages and website editors use Lorem Ipsum as their default text, and when searching for “Lorem Ipsum” you will find many websites that use this text if they are in a state of development. Many versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (for example by adding humor and things of that nature).
