The days 24, 25 and 26 June 2026 will be held, in hybrid mode (face-to-face and online) at the Catholic University of Avila, The I International Congress of the Doctorate Programme on Agri-Food Quality and the Environment, an academic meeting that aims to become a stable space for scientific reflection, interdisciplinary dialogue and international cooperation on the main contemporary agri-food and environmental challenges.

The growing complexity of agri-food systems and environmental processes requires rigorous, integrative scientific research oriented towards both the generation of knowledge and its responsible transfer to society. Food quality, the sustainability of production systems, the efficient management of natural resources and the response to climate change are not only technical challenges, but also scientific, social and ethical ones that require advanced and well-founded approaches.

This is the context of the Doctoral Programme on Agri-Food Quality and the Environment at the UCAV, conceived as a space for research training of excellence and as a driving force for specialised scientific production. This first international congress is a natural extension of this programme and a foundational act that defines its lines of reflection, its academic standards and its international projection.

The Congress aims to bring together established researchers, doctoral students, postgraduate students and professionals in the agri-food and environmental fields from different countries, with the objective of sharing research results, innovative methodologies and applied experiences. The selected papers and communications will reflect the new scientific horizons in the study of agri-food quality and the environment, highlighting the central role of doctoral research in the generation of advanced knowledge.

The scientific committee and the coordination team are already working on the organisation of this meeting with the conviction that this first edition will mark the beginning of a solid and continuous academic trajectory. With this, the Catholic University of Avila reaffirms its commitment to research excellence, quality doctoral training and collaboration between the university, research centres and the productive fabric.

The organisers of the 1st International Congress of the Doctoral Programme on Agri-Food Quality and the Environment invite the academic and scientific community, as well as all interested professionals and institutions, to participate in this meeting, which is born with a clear vocation for the future, service to knowledge and contribution to sustainable development.
